The direction of opening can be determined based on the layout design or the planned interior arrangement: 

1. Stand where the door will be installed, facing the direction in which it should open. 
2. Decide on which side the handle should be and on which side the hinges should be, taking into account user comfort and the layout of the room (e.g. furniture or walls). 
3. If the handle is to be on the left and the door opens outward, these will be left doors opening outward. Similarly, if the handle is to be on the right and the door opens inward, these will be right doors opening inward.

Standard dimensions of exterior doors are most often 90 cm in width and 200 cm in height, although models are also available with widths of 80 cm or 100 cm [will the 100 cm remain?]. The installation opening should be larger by about 2–3 cm in width and height to allow space for fitting the door frame and for the application of mounting foam. 

The door frame, i.e. the frame casing, takes up additional space that should be considered when measuring the opening. Its width and depth may vary depending on the door system and wall thickness, so before installation it’s worth checking the exact dimensions provided on the model’s page.
